Lampwork Glass and Freshwater Pearl Earrings

Lampworked Lauscha and Moretti Glass beads with 24K gold leaf

The beads are are core of transparent cobalt-blue glass wrapped in a layer of clear glass so the light will travel through them better, and then a layer of 24K gold leaf was wrapped on last.

I feel sorry for the earrings, they are the only piece that don't have a comment.
I'm not partial to blue, but I have to admit they are breathtaking.
SO delicate, but striking at the same time!

I LOVE blue, but I don't have holes in my ears any more, so I try not to look at earrings. However, I prefer freshwater pearls over the ... round one. These are more delicate and individual, yeah?

meg - well, between our hands and necks, we've got plenty adornable space besides the ears, so no tremendous loss there. Yes, I love the elongated freshwater pearls like this - they have more texture and seem more special, to me. I'm going to make more beads like this with different core colors and post them over the next few days...
